First lesson in v-cut letters in stone

What a wonderful factory!  Massive, massive lumps of stone and marble in all shapes and sizes and massive, massive loud machinery.  Straight through to the back of the factory is a smaller and quieter area where I was give my first lesson.  When I stopped, I looked at the statues they had carved from the old, weatherworn statues.

The plan was to leave Tripoli in 2012, head home to Malta and set up a calligraphy business but it's all happened a bit quicker!
